WikiHaus @ SXSW 2025
During SXSW 2025 in Austin, we hosted a house with a full line up for wikireaders and wikieditors, new and experienced! Events were hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, WikiPortraits, Wikimedia NYC, Creative Commons, and Ignite Talks.
WikiHaus @ SXSW 2024
At SXSW 2024, Wikimedians came together to host our first ever WikiHaus, featuring a WikiPortraits photo studio where hundreds of people came through. They had their photos taken or learned about Wikipedia.
The project was was supported by Wikimedia Foundation, Harbour, and Sanzo.
WikiHaus @ SXSW 2023
SXSW 2023 featured a panel with Wikimedia Foundation CEO Maryana Iskander, Wikimedia Laureate Andrew Lih, Smithsonian Open Knowledge Coordinator Kelly Doyle, and Smithsonian head of digital transformation Becky Kobberod to discuss the past and future relationship between the Smithsonian and wiki.
In addition, a number of Wikipedians came together to as part of the WikiCred initiative to discuss information integrity. WikiHaus took place at the famed historic Graeber Mansion on Sixth Street (which features an indoor pool!)
